I've always loved the Grand Canyon and, though the Grand Canyon is certainly the inspiration behind this work, "The Canyon" does not necessarily depict an exact rendition of that great wonder. I wanted to capture the majestic views of seemingly never ending vistas and that awe inspiring sense of depth...that feeling of sitting on top of the world. Yet I also wanted to create an original, unique painting. I hope you enjoy my vision as well as I did painting it. [...]

Many times, as the sun rises, it casts off a warm, comforting glow on the dew covered grasses of early morning. In this work I have tried to capture that moment.
